A little inside into the process of wheel-thrown pottery:
The process of wheel-thrown pottery is a slow process: this means that a ceramic piece will need some time to be finished (at least 10 days)
We start with throwing a piece (during the workshop), after the ceramic workshop the piece needs to dry until it is ‘leather hard’ which means it is hard enough to touch and hold, but still soft enough to finish it to its final shape, what we call ‘trimming’. After the trimming, the piece needs to dry for at least another couple of days before it goes in the kiln (oven) the first time for a bisque firing. This firing takes about 30 hours. Then we glaze the pieces and fire them a second time, glaze firing, for another 30h. Now the piece is ready!
PRIVATE CERAMIC WORKSHOP (max 2 people)
EVERY DAY UPON APPOINTMENT (*option to book a serie of 5/10 workshops in an intensive 1/2 weeks, every afternoon of the week).
Each class is 2,5h long with an approx. 20’ clean up.
We suggest to wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty as we often work with RED clay.
Included: White or red stoneware clay, use of an apron, towels and all the trimming tools.
Drinks are offered during the workshop.
If you like to keep some pieces, this is possible for a small fee of €10/piece.
We also offer to ship the finished pieces to your home address for an extra fee. Please be aware that this service is to be paid extra. We will contact you with the correct shipping fee once the pieces are finished (fired and glazed).
Once the pieces have been shipped we don’t hold responsibility for breakage or lost items during the shipping process.
1 workshop: €85 per person
You will learn the basic principles of wheel-thrown pottery. This means you will learn to throw the basic shape of a cilinder (coffee cup, tea mug, etc…) and start creating your own beautiful tableware set or artistic vessels.
If you like to keep your creation we are more then happy to finish them for you for an small extra fee of €10/piece.
Series of 5 workshops: €370 per person
You will go through all the basic steps of pottery and the shaping of different forms such as bowls, cups, plates, etc.… You will get an introduction on finishing pieces. You may choose 3 pieces that will be fired and glazed.
Series of 10 workshops: €740 per person
In this series, you will optimize your ceramic skills and go to the next level of throwing bigger (salad bowls, plates, series etc.… ). You may choose 8 pieces that will be fired and glazed.

By booking a workshop, you accept the cancellation policy.
For cancellations made more than 48 hours before the start of the workshop, we can assure a full refund.
For cancellations less than 48 hours before the start of the workshop, no refund is available.
