A little inside into the process of wheel-thrown pottery:
The process of wheel-thrown pottery is a slow process: this means that a ceramic piece will need some time to be finished (at least 10 days)
We start with throwing a piece (during the workshop), after the ceramic workshop the piece needs to dry until it is ‘leather hard’ which means it is hard enough to touch and hold, but still soft enough to finish it to its final shape, what we call ‘trimming’. After the trimming, the piece needs to dry for at least another couple of days before it goes in the kiln (oven) the first time for a bisque firing. This firing takes about 30 hours. Then we glaze the pieces and fire them a second time, glaze firing, for another 30h. Now the piece is ready!

WHAT TO EXPECT: You will learn the basic techniques of throwing on the wheel to create your own ceramic pieces. We will also go through every step of the ceramic process starting from wedging the clay to throwing, trimming, and glazing the pieces.
PRICE: €65 per person
PLEASE NOTE: This workshop will always be a drop-inn class with an intro to the technique and the process of ceramics. We welcome beginner and intermediate throwers. There is a maximum of 10 spots, so book in advance.

*When we have a minimum of 3 subscriptions! NOTE: This workshop can be changed to a private workshop with consent of the participants (this means the price of a private workshop is applicable).
** If you would like to take some pieces home with you, this is possible for a small fee of €10/piece. We can also send the finished pieces to your home address for an extra fee that depends on the weight of the package.

By booking a workshop, you accept the cancellation policy.
For cancellations more than 48 hours before the start of the workshop can be fully refunded.
For cancellations less than 48 hours before the start of the workshop, no refund is available.
